Learning Journey

After great thought, the metaphor to which I can most relate my teaching views and experiences to is a lighthouse. I’ve chosen lighthouses as they represent hope, strength, and perseverance through stormy seas.

Lighthouses also serve as pillars of individuality while offering guidance and providing a sense of safety. As teachers, we steer our students along in their educational journeys. This complex task requires teachers to employ a unique balance between leadership and collaboration.

As a teacher, I aim to strike and maintain an equilibrium which allows me to serve both as a Captain and as a First-Mate. In doing so, I am hopeful that together we can navigate the chartered paths they wish to travel while keeping the shorelines well within reach.
